Who we are

BuildaTea is operated by Futurewrks LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”). This policy applies to www.buildatea.com and to purchases made through it. Our store currently serves customers in the United States, and all prices are in U.S. dollars.

Information we collect

We collect only what we need to build your blend, fulfill your order, and support you:

• Order details — the blend you configure (ingredients, percentages, size, and packaging choices), your email address, and your shipping name and address.
• Account information — if you create an account, your email address and a securely hashed password, or, if you choose “Sign in with Google,” the basic profile information Google returns to confirm your identity. Creating an account is optional; you can check out as a guest.
• Communications — messages you send us (for example, support requests) and our replies.
• Technical information — limited technical data, such as your IP address, needed to keep the site secure and to prevent abuse (for example, rate limiting).

We do not collect or store your payment card details. Payments are handled entirely by Stripe on their own secure checkout page. We receive only a confirmation that payment succeeded and limited details such as the last four digits and the billing region.

How we use your information

• To price, produce, and ship the blend you order.
• To send transactional email — order confirmations, shipping updates, and, if you have an account, password and sign-in messages.
• To provide customer support and respond to your questions.
• To operate, secure, and improve the store, and to prevent fraud and abuse.
• To comply with our legal and tax obligations.
• With your consent, to send marketing or newsletter email about BuildaTea. You can opt out at any time — see Marketing choices below.

Marketing choices

If we send you marketing or newsletter email, every message includes an unsubscribe link, and you can opt out at any time by using that link or by emailing us. Opting out of marketing does not stop transactional email about orders you place, which we need to send to fulfill your order. We do not sell your personal information.

How we share information

We share personal information only with the service providers that make the store work, and only as needed for them to perform their service:

• Stripe — payment processing. Stripe collects and processes your payment information under its own privacy policy.
• Supabase — our database and authentication provider, which stores your account and order records on our behalf.
• Amazon Web Services (AWS) — hosting for the website.
• Shipping carriers (such as USPS) — to deliver your order, using your shipping name and address.
• Google — only if you choose to sign in with Google.

We may also disclose information if required by law, to enforce our terms, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of our customers or others. If our business is transferred, customer information may be part of that transfer.

Cookies and tracking

We use only essential cookies — chiefly the secure session cookie that keeps you signed in and protects checkout. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party analytics or tracking pixels, and our fonts are self-hosted, so loading a page does not send a request to any font provider. Because we use only essential cookies, we do not show a tracking-consent banner.

Data retention and security

We keep order records for as long as needed to fulfill the order and to meet legal, tax, and accounting requirements, and account information until you ask us to delete your account. We protect information with encryption in transit (HTTPS), access controls, and reputable providers, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, and to opt out of marketing. To make a request, email us using the address below. We will respond as required by applicable law and will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

Children’s privacy

BuildaTea is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you. Your continued use of the store after an update means you accept the revised policy. See also our Terms of Service.
